My husband Stephen asked how he could support me with the promotion of my art, this heritage, and living on principle. Together, we introduced to the world the “Kwanzaa” iPhone app as a companion to my album, “Kwanzaa: 7 Days, 7 Principles, Poems and Affirmations for Everyday Living.”

Today, this “universal” app is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (requires Apple Silicon) and has been downloaded in over 90 countries. It includes poetic affirmations for each principle along with Swahili pronunciations, Kinara lighting instructions, Kwanzaa facts vs myths, and more. The app will even give you a friendly “Habari gani?” notification each day of Kwanzaa!
